The other week I wrote about the gallery launch party at Milk Studios, and this post comes as a derivative of that event. Ms Sofia Ruiz, graphic designer and marketer (party-goer) for Runa, was photographing people drinking Runa products at the sponsored event. We met via Yulia’s jumpsuit and unintentionally ideal-for-product-placement drinking technique, and the rest is now history.
Sofia was feature last week in Fab Ego Magazine’s ‘Scale’ series. Fab Ego Scale aims to introduce stylish New Yorkers and vivid personalities through semi-casual street photography, showcasing the featured guest’s personal wardrobe, style, and personality. I photographed a series of images with Sofia, and they are now live at Fab Ego Magazine. If you click through to the original article via the links embedded above, you’ll see an accompanying interview along with some of Sofia’s original visual artwork. Below are a selection of images, some of which didn’t make the final cut.
Please head over and have a look at the other photographs and also see how Sofia’s oil-paintings strongly align with this quote from her interview: “I think that art should comfort the disturbed soul and disturb the comfortable one.”
More menswear-y stuff soon.
